Recruitment started here, at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire, on 22nd April 2008. Since that time we have recruited 20 patients (up to 1st August 2008). We have also welcomed a new trial manager—Dr Sarah Pountain. Sarah started on the 21st July 2008 and has been busy dealing with enquires from centres interested in taking part in the study. She has also been to numerous intersted centres to talk about the sudy. If you would like Sarah to visit your centre please contact her on 01782 553369 or sarah.pountain@northstaffs.nhs.uk. NIHR RfPB FUNDING We are grateful to the NIHR Research for Patient Benefits (RfPB) for providing the funding for the first 1,000 participants to the study. RECRUITMENT Total: 20 (up to 1st August ‘08) No. of Active centers: 1 No. of interested centres: 31 No. of centres completing SSI forms: 15 No. of centres awaiting REC approval: 9 CENTRE RECRUITMENT We are still looking for more centres — should you wish to be involved or know of a prospective centre please contact Sarah for more information (sarah.pountain@northstaffs.nhs.uk). SRN ADOPTION FUTURE EVENTS We are pleased to announce that the Stroke Research Network has confirmed its adoption of the Stroke Oxygen Supplementation (SOS) Study. We look forward to working with all the Stroke Research Networks on this study.
