Bugs on Bugs! Characters from the Looney Tunes Gang—Bugs Bunny, Road Runner, Foghorn Leghorn, Porky Pig, Daffy Duck, Michigan J. Frog, and others—provide wonderful metaphors for the challenges of testing. From Bugs we learn about personas and the risks of taking the wrong turn in Albuquerque. Michigan J. Frog teaches valuable lessons about bug isolation and how ambiguous pronouns can dramatically change the meaning of our requirements. The Tasmanian Devil not only teaches us about the risks of following standard procedures but also shows us practical approaches to stress and robustness testing. And, of course, we learn about boundary conditions and challenging physics from Yosemite Sam. Bugs teaches lessons for the young at heart—novice and experienced alike. Robert shares some powerful heuristic models that you can apply right away. The value of modeling personas for test design How metaphors can help us understand and communicate Heuristic models are not only useful—they’re fun January 3, 2019 © Robert Sabourin, 2006

Lyrics The Bugs Bunny Show Overture, curtain, lights, This is it, the night of nights No more rehearsing and hearsing our parts We know every part by heart Overture, curtain, lights This is it, we'll hit the heights And oh what heights we'll hit On with the show this is it Tonight what heights we'll hit On with the show this is it. Lyrics Road Runner If you're on the highway and Road Runner goes beep beep. Just step aside or might end up in a heap. Road Runner, Road Runner runs on the road all day. Even the coyote can't make him change his ways. Road Runner, the coyote's after you. Road Runner, if he catches you you're through. That coyote is really a crazy clown, When will he learn he can never mow him down? Poor little Road Runner never bothers anyone, Just runnin' down the road's his idea of having fun.
