Changing Your Schedule Welcome to 2016-17 UHS We’re excited to have you join us at Uintah High School next year. This presentation will answer some of your questions about attending high school. This presentation is also available online on our counseling website so don’t worry if you can’t remember everything. Changing Your Schedule
How to View (and possibly change) Your Schedule Before each trimester, students have the opportunity and responsibility to check their schedules and make any changes they would like. This includes changing their teachers and making sure they have the needed prerequisite classes. 9th graders have only a few choices, so be careful about what you change. Any changes made by a counselor at any time will cost students $10. You have the opportunity and responsibility to mange your own schedule. Counselors can assist you, but they will not do it for you.
How to View (and possibly change) Your Schedule Click on scheduling. To view your schedule, log on to your Aspire page and click on scheduling.
How to View (and possibly change) Your Schedule Then make sure you have a balanced schedule – you shouldn’t have all of your electives in one trimester. First, make sure you have a similar number of core courses each trimester.
How to View (and possibly change) Your Schedule You can click on the red X to remove yourself from a class – but don’t do it! Never delete a class without working out your schedule on paper first. You can click on any red X to delete a class. But don’t delete any of your classes yet!
You must find a class to replace the one you want to move or delete You must find a class to replace the one you want to move or delete. Do this by typing in the search field or clicking on the core area on the graduation requirements list on the right side of the page. Find a class to replace the one you want to move or delete. Not every class is offered every period or every trimester. If you remove yourself from a required class, your counselor will put you back into it. So be thoughtful.
How to View (and possibly change) Your Schedule Once you find a class, you can click on it to see all of the sections offered for the year. Each section will list the period (in blue at the top), trimester (the gray T on the bottom right), and the number of seats available (in black or red below the name of the teacher). This is what the classes look like – each class has the period in blue, the trimester in gray, and the number of seats available in black or red (no seats available).
How to View (and possibly change) Your Schedule If you find a class you want to add, first delete the existing class by clicking on the red X in the upper left hand corner of the class listing. Then click on the new section and it will be added to your schedule. Make sure there is a seat for you in the new class before deleting the old one and make sure you fill in every class! You delete a class by clicking on the red X. You add a class by clicking on the box with the class listing. Do not leave a blank class or the counselors will fill it for you!
