Alice McLellan Birney Phoebe Apperson Hearst National Congress of Mothers founded in 1897. National PTA is a powerful voice for all children, a relevant resource for families and communities, and a strong advocate for public education. National PTA has established programs and called for legislation that improves our children’s lives, such as: Creation of Kindergarten classes Child labor laws Public health service Hot and healthy lunch programs Juvenile justice system Mandatory immunization Arts in Education School Safety

PTA Takes Action- National PTA’s political platform of spreading news regarding legislation that impacts our children #StopCutsToClassrooms School of Excellence- a recognition program that supports and celebrates partnerships between PTAs and schools to enrich the educational experience and overall well-being for all students. Reflections-a nationally acclaimed student recognition program to encourage artistic creativity in the classroom and at home. Students of all grades and abilities may participate and explore the arts based on the 2017-2018 theme: Within Reach Connect for Respect- National PTA’s initiative to help students, parents and educators to create school climates full of safe and supportive peer relationships. ….and many more!!!!
