Reconciliation Service

Sacrament of Reconciliation Service Practical Arrangements • The service begins at 11.00am at St Edward’s Church – I suggest arrival from about 10.40am so we can be ready to start promptly. • Each child is invited to wear their own smart clothes for this service. • There will be a mixture of readings and songs from the children. • A seating plan will be devised once we have confirmation of who is attending and sent out to parents prior to the Service. Children to sit on the end of the pew (by the aisle) accompanied by parents etc..

Receiving the Sacrament • Although the Service is fully inclusive of all children, only our Baptised Catholic children can receive the Sacrament. • The children will have a booklet which they will take up to the Priest and guide them through the process. • The Priest will tell them to say an ‘Our Father’ or a ‘Hail Mary’ – parents and children to Mr Donald or Mrs Grainger and say the prayer together. • Non Baptised Catholics will all be called together at the end for a special blessing.
