Seminar on Media Technology

Goals * Development of information finding skills * Development of report writing skills * Preparing to write final thesis next year * Developing oral presentation skills * Improving critical thinking and discussion * Learning new information from each other * To develop new digital eLearning material

Course procedures 1 * Every participant prepares a 20 minutes oral presentation on selected topic * The topic can be selected by yourself according to your personal interests (preferred) or on the topic proposed by teacher. * Presentation will be supported by Powerpoint (or html etc) slide show; it will be included into the web site

Course procedures 2 * A written report of minimum 7 pages has to be submitted to the course web site max. two weeks after the presentation. Delay of one week decreases the grade by 0,5 * The principles of final thesis writing must be applied in writing the report (see Writing guide in Materials. Especially: NO CHEATING BY COPY-PASTE!)

Course procedures 3 * Every participant will act as an opponent to one seminar presentation * After opponent's comments a general discussion will be carried out about the topic. * The presentations will be stored on video to be included into course web site * The material has to be accessible for the opponent minimum 2 (two) days beforehand on the course website in Tube (See the link “Assignments”)

Grading Scale 0...5 * Presence mandatory. One absence reduces grade by 0,5 grades. * delay of report reduces 0,5 grades/week * Absence reduction can be compensated by writing a review report of 1 page/presentation and submitted as an assignment * Grading is based on contents, oral presentation, written report and seminar activity.
