Education for Tomorrow Large-scale thematic programme in Educational research and dissemination, co-funded by all the Nordic countries, Nordic Council of Ministers and NordForsk The programme is initiated by the Nordic ministers of education. The total budget of the programme is ca 73M NOK appr. 10M euros. (17M NOK less than expected)

Education for tomorrow - objectives to strengthen the Nordic region’s position within educational research in Europe and beyond to contribute to a knowledge-based policy for the educational sector in the Nordic countries by analysing issues of substantial importance and relevance to both the sector itself, policy makers and researchers to disseminate the results to a wide array of stakeholders in the Nordic region and internationally

Education for tomorrow The objectives are reached through: 1. Two calls for proposals for research projects in May 2012 Call for proposals for one Nordic Centre of Excellence 3. Dissemination strategy for the entire programme

The programme’s lifecycle

Reporting There is annual reporting, midterm reporting and final reporting. The deadline for the reports is 31 March. When approved the administrative report triggers the next payment while the scientific part of the report is assessed by the Scientific Advisory Board.

Scientific Advisory Board Aim: give scientific advice to the NCoE, the projects, and the Steering Committee, contribute to the monitoring and strengthening of the scientific work as well as to the development of the programme as a whole. SAB has regular meetings with all parties the NCoE and the projects will report their activities to the SAB and discuss progress and possible improvements. SAB does not have a decision making mandate. SAB is appointed by NordForsk

Yearly conferences NordForsk arranges yearly conferences on behalf of the programme. The target group of the conferences are both researchers, practitioners and policy makers. These conferences will also be the arena for the yearly meeting between the Projects, the NCoE, the SAB and the Steering committee.

Dissemination strategy Dissemination is an objective Dissemination network. Exchange of knowledge about activities Joint planning of activities Publications targeted to policymakers and practioners. Conferences aimed for endusers. The political arena both nationally, on a Nordic level and intnerationally are interested in the results.
