Advisor/advisee Elkins High School

Schedule Monday - 9th & 11th grade - Advisory Lesson - 10th & 12th grade - Khan Academy Tuesday - 9th & 11th grade - Khan Academy -10th & 12th grade - Advisory Lesson Wednesday – Club Day Thursday – Enrichment & Intervention Friday – Club Day

Who is your advisor? Each student is assigned an academic advisor based on their grade level. You will keep this advisor throughout high school. Each school year, your advisor will assist you with reviewing your credits and required courses (PEP), facilitate advisory lessons, instruct you regarding test prep (Khan Academy), and assist you with your portfolio.

What is a Portfolio? A collection of student-selected documents of in- school & out-of-school accomplishments A visual resume of the important things A motivational tool – if you don’t have entries, join a club, get involved, volunteer, etc.

Why? AND . . . To reflect on your experiences To identify the skills you possess To identify the qualities you possess AND . . . Reflecting on your experiences allows you to identify your skills, qualities & interests so that you can use them to seek employment or further your education.

The Portfolio is a Randolph County Schools Graduation Requirement! Pete completed his portfolio! John chose not to complete his portfolio.

Portfolio Details Must be digital (upload to OneNote in Office 365) – utilize the scanner in the Media Center, a scanning app, snipping tool, or photo Each grade level has a checklist of requirements Pay attention to deadlines! Feel free to add more than the required documents

Note: If you are completing a program at RTC, you only need to complete the 4 required items on this list. Senior Checklist

Experiential Learning Each student is required to complete 10 hours prior to graduation. These 10 hours must relate to your career concentration. They must be completed at an approved site. The list of approved sites is on the EHS website. Hours completed through the RTC, a school club, band, theater, etc. will be approved. See a school counselor for forms to request approval of a site. Be sure to document your hours on the required form and include in your portfolio!
