End of Semester Projects Part 3 April 22nd, 2015

Warm Up What would be the benefit to doing a Kid Talk over a Genius Hour Project? Brainstorm your ideas and jot down your answers in your warm up book.

Agenda Today I will prepare for my semester project. Quick Review Kahoot In Defense of Teenage Girls Discussion Brainstorm

Quick Review Kahoot If you have a cell phone, log on to www.Kahoot.it If you DO NOT have a cell phone on you, raise your hand and you will receive a paper copy. Those of you with the paper copy will sit in the back of the room (on the floor) to complete the “quiz.” Those of you with cell phones will participate in the Kahoot.

In Defense of Teenage Girls Do you think that teenagers are respected by society? One young lady shares her thoughts on the matter. As you watch, jot down any poignant (powerful) ideas she shares (you must have at least 1). Be prepared to discuss.

Brainstorming Time! Make a list of what you would like to pursue. Remember, you can choose to do either: Kid Talk Genius Hour Self-Directed Novel Study

Genius Hour Proposal Topic: The Loch Ness Monster Guiding Question: Does the Loch Ness Monster really exist? Description: We at Google wish to study the Loch Ness in Scotland in order to see if indeed the Monster, called “Nessie”, truly exists. We plan to use our existing “Street View” technology used in Google Maps to determine this. By mounting a “Street View” camera atop a boat, we hope to scan all directions of the lake above and below water to find evidence of “Nessie’s” existence.

Homework Read for 30 minutes. Take your brainstorming and begin creating your proposal (GH) or script (KT) if you haven’t already. Novel Study Students-choose your book and bring it to class.
