Summary of Evidence/Reason for Referral Unit 10: Engaging with an Audience in Creative Media Production To achieve a Pass grade the learner must achieve all of the following criteria;x x Anna Preston Assessment Criteria for PASS R= Referral, S = satisfactory, HS = High Standard, VHS = Very High Standard R S HS VHS Summary of Evidence/Reason for Referral 1.1 Analyse the characteristics of the audience for a chosen creative media production activity. x Task 1 Analyse the audience 10.1.1 Research the audience breakdown of the Sheffield Star and create an infographic of your findings. Feedback: Task 2 Interacting with an audience 10.1.2 Research and explain how the Sheffield Star and other online news organisations interact with an audience using social media. Produce a blog post of your findings. Include screenshots and survey results Feedback: Anna your research is detailed and thorough. You have included a wide range of different news sources and examined their social media use – including frequency of posts, types of content, long and short form content and audience interaction strategies. Your own focus group research and feedback is also well considered.  You have also presented your findings in a coherent way. 1.2 Interpret research activity to develop ideas and creative proposals for a chosen audience. z 2.1 Demonstrate independence in decision making in planning and developing creative solutions. Plan, develop and produce a portfolio 10.2.1 Task 3 Create your own content to share with an audience in a professional context. Task 4 Communicate with an audience: Using social media 10.2.2 Set up Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (or any other platforms justified via research) to share your content and link your social media platforms to analytics. The aim is to be creative in interacting with an audience in addition to simply sharing your copy (e.g. polls, short videos, Gifs, memes) and build followers. You must make sure you regularly update your social media networks. Create a blog post detailing how you are planning your social media posts and engaging with your audience through your social media.   Feedback: You have demonstrated a sustained use of your social media and a reflective application of strategies for audience interaction. You have documented the planning process extremely well in your production diary and your social media calendar. You have engaged in the Sheffield Star project and developed your own professional news writing. The addition of feature/blog-style content shows tenacity and motivation. Keep this up for your FMP. Well done. 2.2 Select appropriate media and processes to communicate ideas for an identified audience. 3.1 Critically evaluate creative solutions against identified audience characteristics. Task 5  Evaluate and reflect 10.3.1, 10.3.2 Evaluate your content production against your audience’s expectations. Refer to your analytics’ data and how this unit will inform your plans for your final major project. Feedback: Your evaluation is detailed and thorough. Well done. You have reflected on your planning, application of knowledge and experience, social media related strategies for engaging with an audience and your self development. You could discuss in more detail how the unit has developed your understanding of working to a brief. Other than that, you have produced an excellent evaluation. 3.2 Critically evaluate and reflect on learning to inform personal development. Has the student passed the Unit?
