Paper 5.57 INFORMATION SYSTEM SOLUTION FOR RELIABILITY BASED ANALYSIS AND DEVELOPMENT OF DISTRIBUTION NETWORKS P. Verho, P. Järventausta, A. Mäkinen, K. Nousiainen Tampere University of Technology, Finland M. Pouttu – Koillis-Satakunnan Sähkö Oy, Finland P. Juuti – ABB, Finland

Reliability analysis as part of distribution network planning Long tradition in Finland (since 1980’s) Method development (e.g. customer outage cost model) Integrated to network information system Used widely e.g. in order to plan the optimal location of remote controlled disconnectors Growing interest nowadays due to increased importance of Power Quality Good development possibilities (more data and advanced information technology available)

Recent and ongoing development Voltage dip analysis integrated to the tool Modelling of dynamic failure rates Fault data analysis Modelling of dependency between failure rate and operational circumstances (e.g. component age, environment, over-voltage protection) Updated outage cost modelling Comprehensive planning tool

Results of reliability analysis Load point indices short interruptions 37 / a outages 12 / a outage time 412 min / a voltage dips 140 / a outage and dip costs 2368 € / a Costs caused by a line section customers 341 € / a utility 51 € / a
