Adjectives Adjectives: modifies a noun or a pronoun Which one? How many? What kind?

Which one? Determiners: adjectives that determine the presence of a the noun to follow. My, her, their, our, etc. Articles: A, an, the

Numbers: one, two, three, four, five, etc. How many? Numbers: one, two, three, four, five, etc. No, many, none, almost, etc.

Small, large, purple, blue, pink, etc. What kind? Small, large, purple, blue, pink, etc.

Placement of Adjectives Single-word adjectives almost always occur: Attributive: before the noun (or pronoun) being modified Predicate/Subjective: after a be or linking verb

Order of Adjectives Adjectives can occur in phrases. Typically follow the order give: which one, how many, and what kind
