Course Registration Instructions 1.) Use Skyward Student Access 2.) Click on the ‘SCHEDULE’ tab on the left 3.) Next, click on the link that says “REQUEST COURSE FOR 2019-2020 AT HORTONVILLEHIGH”
Click on the link “REQUEST COURSES” next to your name at the top Step 4 A list of available classes are listed on the left side. Courses are listed alphabetically Click on the link “REQUEST COURSES” next to your name at the top
Step 5 This moves the course into the 2019-2020 box on the right Locate the course you want & click on it to highlight, then (If you need more information about the course double click an a window will pop up with more information) This moves the course into the 2019-2020 box on the right Click on the button to the right of the list that says “REQUEST SELECTED COURSE” *Note: when you choose a course that runs all year, the system will automatically request both semesters. If for some reason you only need ONE semester of a year long course see your counselor
‘Search Box’ in red that says: If you request a course in which you have not met the prerequisite, you will see a message under the ‘Search Box’ in red that says: “THE PRE-REQ FOR THIS COURSE HAS NOT BEEN MET. PLEASE CONTACT YOUR ADVISOR”
7 credits = two Academic Extensions/Commons periods (1 each semester) 7.5 credits = one Academic Extension/Commons periods (1 semester only) 8 credits = No Academic Extension/Commons period is requested Step 6 Continue to request courses until you have at least 7 total credits If you plan to take an Academic Extension/Commons period YOU need to make sure to request them 8041 = FALL semester 8042 = SPRING semester Odd course number = first semester Even course numbers = second semester
