5th Grade News Week of MATH SOCIAL STUDIES READING We will be reading chapters 4-6 from Steal Away Home. We will have a Vocabulary and Comprehension Test on Friday. LANGUAGE  We will continue working with commas and conclusions this week. Students will have homework on Thursday and a test over commas and spelling words on Friday.  MATH This week in Math, we will be working with rounding decimals and reviewing everything prior to this date. If students complete their activating strategy and are on time to class each day, they will receive points added to their math grade at the end of the week. We will finish researching the major events of the Civil War and test on Wednesday before moving on to the important leaders of the Civil War. Students should also have their interactive notebooks complete/up to date by Wednesday as this will be a daily grade.  SCIENCE This week in science we will be completing our unit on plate tectonics. We will discuss mountain formation today. We have already covered plate tectonics and plate boundaries. We will have a test on Thursday! Next week, we will move onto volcanoes.
