Newsletter Reception Class 1st October 2015 Literacy Phonics Maths In Literacy this week we have been reading the story ‘Titch’ by Pat Hutchins. We have discussed the feelings of the characters and sequencing the story using pictures. The children have also been practicing letter formation and writing some simple words. The theme this half term is ‘ourselves’ and we have enjoyed getting to know the children during these first few weeks. The children have settled well into the school routines. It has been wonderful to watch new friendships develop and We look forward to seeing the children develop as the year progresses. Phonics So far this term we have learned the following sounds s a t p I n d. This week we have been learning sounds g o c and k Maths This week in maths we have been working on sequencing our daily routine as well as recognising numbers 1-20.
