On your Mark, Get Set, Read! Super Tuesday Adventures 2:00—3:30 pm For Children ages 6-12   June 28 Paralympics Meet Josh Kennison, an elite para-athlete from South Paris, ME. He was born a quad amputee, missing both his feet and arms, his tongue, and half of his jaw. Find out how running track and playing soccer in middle school lead him to gain confidence and independence through fitness. This is an event not to be missed! July 5* Animal Helpers Nancy Hohmann and Belle will help us learn about some of the ways animals assist people and make their lives more enjoyable. Weather permitting, we’ll take a neighborhood walk together. July 12* Nutrition Detectives Miss Jenn knows that food is a building block for the body, and books are building blocks for minds. This program will help you fuel your engine so you can have the energy you need all day long! July 19* Outdoor Exploration Meet Tamra Wight, author of three Cooper and Packrat mysteries, lives in Poland, Maine and loves meeting Maine’s young readers. When she isn't writing, she enjoys wildlife watching, hiking, geo-caching, kayaking, power-walking, and snowshoeing. July 26* Veterinarians and Pet Health Just like people need to take care of their own health, they also need to care for their animals. Meet Dr. Sarah Cummings and learn how she cares for animals and how you can too. * All July programs will wrap up with a chance to try out gymnastic movement and exercise with Oxford Gymnastics. August 2 Yoga Yoga is for everyone- including kids! This program will be an opportunity to try some poses and learn more about practicing this exercise that helps build strength, flexibility, balance, and relaxation. When done in a group setting, yoga offers opportunities for cooperation, communication, teamwork, and friendship! August 9 Olympic Celebration Come celebrate your reading success at the Summer Reading Celebration. You will receive your reading certificate, play some fun and energizing games, have ice cream, and maybe win a prize!
