A provider of home-delivered meals prepared by Lakeland Hospital

Who might want a hot and cold meal delivered to their door by friendly, trustworthy volunteers? Most often it is someone who 1. has undergone a recent surgery and is now recovering at home. 2. is ill or simply unable to make meals for themselves. 3. desires a healthy, nutritious meal made by professionals.

We offer delicious food!

Delivery information Meals are delivered (between 10:45 and 11:45 am) by volunteers who are identified by a tag with our logo. Meals are not delivered on Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day. If Niles Community Schools are closed due to weather conditions, we will cancel delivery for that day. We make every attempt to inform our clients that morning either by an announcement on a local television station or by phone. Meals can be started and stopped at any time by calling our office at Lakeland Hospital (687-1462).

Our annual fund drive is in the fall Donations are appreciated as the money helps to keep these meals affordable for our clients. Meals cost $5.00 a day. We have subsidies available for some low income clients who meet our criteria for financial aid. Weekend meals may soon be available, if requested, and will be delivered along with the Friday meal. They will be packed for easy refrigerator storage.

Volunteers will pick up the meals between 10:30 and 10:45 at Lakeland Hospital in Niles. Containers will be returned to the hospital at the end of the delivery.

To sign up to receive meals or to volunteer to drive. . Call Christie Purucker at Lakeland Hospital (Niles) 687-1462 Volunteers can drive as little or as much as they want.
