TGg Final Report to the 802.11 WG July 13, 2001 Matthew B. Shoemake IEEE 802.11g Chairperson m.b.shoemake@ieee.org Shoemake, TGg Chairperson

July 2001 Actions Took TGg approximately 6 hours spanning Monday and Tuesday to set an agenda Per direction of resolution passed by the 802.11 WG at the May 2001 Session, TGg took up the topic of interpretation of the TG’s technical selection procedure Shoemake, TGg Chairperson

July 2001 Actions (2) Related to the Selection Procedure Discussion, the following documents were presented: Chair 11-01-460r0 Zyren 11-01-441r1 Hayes/Boer 11-01-415r1 Clements 11-01-473r0 Heegard 11-01-476r1 Motions submitted to the TG on the topic of Selection Procedure are contained in document 11-01-500r0 Subsequently the Hayes/Boer/Carney/Zyren motion passed. Shoemake, TGg Chairperson

Hayes/Boer/Carney/Zyren Motion July 2001 The next round of voting, and subsequent rounds of voting, under Step 19 of the TGg Selection Procedure are used to determine support for the remaining proposal.   Voters shall be allowed the following options on the ballot to select the remaining proposal: a.) “For Proposal” --- indicating support for the proposal in its then current form b.) “Reject Proposal” --- indicating that the proposal is not acceptable in its current form c.) “Abstain” --- indicating a non-vote The level of support is based on the total of “For Proposal” and “Reject Proposal” votes, and does not include “Abstain” votes. Until a level of 75% has been attained for the final proposal - indicating its formal selection - between ballots, the team making the remaining proposal will be allowed to modify that proposal. Should the remaining proposal fail to attain one-third support on any vote, the rounds of voting will terminate, the selection procedure will have been completed, the remaining proposal will be eliminated, and the body will then determine what happens next. MOTION PASSED Shoemake, TGg Chairperson
