TRUSS-2

NUMERICAL AN AIRCRAFT FIN IS OF INVERTED “W” SHAPED PERFECT TRUSS WITH FIVE JOINTS AND EACH MEMBER IS OF 3m LENGTH. THE TRUSS BASE IS SUPPORTED ON TWO POINTS ON THE FUSELAGE AND THE TOP JOINTS SUPPORT TWO AVIONICS EQUIPMENT WEIGHING 2kN (FRONT) AND 4kN (REAR). DETERMINE GRAPHICALLY OR OTHERWISE, THE LOADS ON EACH MEMBER. WHAT IS THE EFFECT OF THIS TRUSS ON THE STABILITY OF THE AIRCRAFT?

ASSIGNMENT 1. COMPLETE THE GRAPHICAL SOLUTION OF EQUILIBRIUM OF A PARTICLE UNDER FOUR LOADS (20,25,30 AND 35kN) AS GIVEN IN THE CLASS. 2. COMPLETE THE SOLUTIONS ( TRUSS OF AIRCRAFT FIN) USING ANALYTICAL METHODS (A) METHOD OF JOINTS (B) METHOD OF SECTIONS 3. SOLVE EXAMPLE 13.3,13.6 ANALYTICALLY 4. SOLVE EXAMPLE 14.3 AND 14.4 GRAPHICALLY

CAUTION THESE ARE GRADED ASSIGNMENTS (EQUIVALENT TO A CT) SUBMISSION: BY NEXT CLASS(NEXT WEEK) ASSIGNMETS ARE NON REFUNDABLE, SO, U MAY KEEP YOUR COPY BEFORE SUBMISSION
