Nat. Rev. Endocrinol. doi:10.1038/nrendo.2016.55 Figure 1 Temporal changes in the sales of acetylsalicylic acid, paracetamol and ibuprofen Figure 1 | Temporal changes in the sales of acetylsalicylic acid, paracetamol and ibuprofen. Data include both prescription and over-the-counter sales, and are depicted as the defined daily dose per 1,000 inhabitants per day for acetylsalicylic acid (anatomical therapeutic chemical (ATC) codes N02BA01 and B01AC06), paracetamol (ATC code N02BE01) and ibuprofen (ATC code M01AE01). The defined daily dose is the assumed average maintenance dose per day for a drug used for its main indication in adults individuals155. These data mainly originate from local governmental drug agencies in Europe, Australia and Malaysia. Kristensen, D.
