God’s Perfect Design Composed of Cleansed Sinners
God’s plan and design of His assembly and house is infallible. Ephesians 3:8-12, 20-21 The Gospel brings to light God’s wisdom through the church. The perfection of the church is in Jesus Christ. Perfect Savior (Eph. 5:23, 27) Perfectly loves (Eph. 5:25) Perfect Head (Eph. 1:22; Matt. 28:18) Built a holy sanctuary (Eph. 2:21) Designed her to be the pillar and ground of truth (1 Tim. 3:15) God’s plan and design of His assembly and house is infallible.
Obedient believers are added (Acts 2:42, 47; Gal. 3:27; 1 Cor. 12:13). Members of Christ are imperfect members because of their own weaknesses, frailties, unbelief and stumblings. 2 Tim. 3:17; 1 Cor. 5:6, 7 Churches of Christ are made up of fallible members endeavoring to abide in His doctrine.
The church of God sanctified in Christ at Corinth had a number of spiritual problems that needed correcting. Unwisely elevating men (ch. 1) Condoning a fornicator (ch. 5) Taking disputes with brethren to civil courts (ch. 6) Judging brethren based upon personal consciences (ch. 10) Profaning the Lord’s Supper (ch. 11) Denying the resurrection of the dead (ch. 15) Churches of Christ are made up of fallible members endeavoring to abide in His doctrine.
What should be done to resolve spiritual problems? Teach God’s design and pattern. Lift up Jesus and Him crucified. Beseech one another to follow always in the footsteps of Jesus. Do all that you can to be a faithful member in God’s house so that you can influence others in the right way of the Lord. Churches of Christ are made up of fallible members endeavoring to abide in His doctrine.
