Risk Management Michelle Lassaline

Risk Management 225 rostered coaches, assistant coaches, trainers, on-ice helpers and managers - down from 260 last season. 219 completed required certification and checks. This is 97% compliance - up from 95% last season. CRC Night (October 19) - 96 records were requested for at total cost of $2,880 - down $180 from 2016-17. Hockey NS coach and safety courses - in total, 86 sessions both online and classroom at a total cost $7,212 - down by $2,366 from 2016-17. Certifications due to expire in 2018 will do so on August 31.

ICE SCHEDULER Highlights: Next Year: Tougher year without Scotia 1 Provided Ice for coaches hockey Melted ice was up slightly 109 hrs 2015/2016 ($20,710) 132 hrs 2016/2017 ($22,527) 131 hrs 2017/2018 ($22,554) Next Year: Try to secure more weekday prime time ice No rate changes so far from CHP or other facilities Cut down on the number of hours of “Melting Ice” by additional 20%

– 15 competitive and 3 novice divisions. • This year we had 148 teams in the Joe, 27 of them from Cole Harbour. – 15 competitive and 3 novice divisions. – Unfortunately no Cole Harbour teams won their division. • This year’s Joe had a few challenges with Scotia 1 out of service. Again we had weather challenges and we lost the Gray mid-week for 12 hours due to a power outage and 3 hours at the end of the week when the Zamboni went down. • Now that we are using the Dartmouth 4 pad we managed to reschedule all the games and championships were awarded in all divisions.

We look to partner with the new vendor in 2019. • All our financial commitments were met for 2017 and a modest profit turned. • We will continue to look at ways to reinvest in tournament infrastructure and to ultimately improve player experience.

Rebate from Pro Hockey Life for last season is $1860 for teams, and $2930 for individual sales. For a total of: $4792 Rebate will be used towards purchase of supplies needs for coaches in September.

Scotiabank will charge $2.50/month for this service. Possibly to take effect post 2018-19 season.
