Introduction Aim: to characterize the environment TPE. Descriptions: institution, students and classroom.

Contextual Factors: Escuela La Greda “La Greda” School: primary educational in Penco.   It is a small community of 121 students

Contextual Factors: Escuela La Greda Economic backgrounds: low socio-economical income families.  “This school is the last chance of parents to give their children an opportunity to succeed in life”.

Contextual Factors: Escuela La Greda Carol J. Carter, expert on student success for the Huffington Post Blog. 1. Lack of exposure, stability, role models 2. Language barriers. 3. First Generation.

STUDENTS CHARACTERISTICS Student Characteristics and Their Instructional Implications: 16 students 9 female 7 male

Unit Planning Topic: Holidays and Special Events Unit Aim: At the end of the unit the student will be able to read and comprehend information related to national holidays. Text book Copy books Pencils Projector Dictionaries Lesson 2 PPP Lesson SWBAT identify and write ordinal numbers in context of the unit (holidays and special events) Review of the cardinal numbers + ordinal numbers in context. (First- second- third- fourth - th) Presentation: (10 min) Practice: (25 min) Production: (10 min) Corrections on spelling and pronunciation when needed in a global form, attending special cases when necessary. Worksheets specially prepared for the class by the preservice teacher. Lesson 3 PPP lesson SWBAT use the simple present structure in positive sentences. Present simple: differences between plural forms and third person singular forms in present time. (She/He/It playS; they, we, you play) CCQs and feedback related to concepts and vocabulary will be provided when need it. Lesson 4 TBL Lesson 90 min SWBAT create a holiday calendar of Chilean celebrations (poster style). Sharing information regarding the main topic of the lesson including the grammatical contents covered during the unit. The goal: (15 min) Pre-task preparation: (15 min) Starting task: (10 min) Problem solving task: (25 min) Production time and solution: (30 min) Product evaluation: Analytic Rubric (attached) Feedback on the process and instructions will be provided when need it. MDD 2 Development MDDII: DESIGN FOR INSTRUCTION LESSON N° 1 – SDL LESSON: 1.2 Lesson 1 Learning Goals: The use of ordinal numbers in the context of Holidays and Special Events (Unit 3 of the book Travellers)   The objective of the lesson was presented as follow: The Student will be able to read and understand a tourist brochure. Justification: General framework of the unit and simple numeric expressions. 

LESSON N° 1 – SDL LESSON: 1.3 Analysis of Pre- Assessment Data: Review the contents (cardinal numbers)   1.4 Learning Resources 1.5 Assessments:   1. Performance-based assessment: 2. Teacher / student communication 1.5.1 Students´ reflection and self-assessment. By guiding group discussion or one-to-one conversations.

LESSON N° 1 – SDL LESSON: 1.6 Motivation for learning: The premise is: “If the teacher can say it in simple words, I can do it too!”   1.7 Activities:  What will students do?
