Go Blended @ SIHS August 20th, 2013

***Remember that the work of the IMPACT grant is not separate from what we already do. This grant gives us the tools to differentiate in our classrooms and to offer our students a unique and individualized way of learning.***

What will this look like at SIHS? First of all who is Education Elements? What went into determining our Cohort? Readiness Assessment (May/June 2013) School Visit (May 2013) Cohort with LKN, MMIB, NVIB What does our design look like? Final Design readout (following slides from Ed. Elements) Who is Education Elements: Education Elements advises schools and school systems on the potential of blended learning, works side-by-side with them to implement blended learning in their classrooms, and provides a technology platform (the Hybrid Learning Management System) that makes it easy and effective for leaders, teachers and students to blend online learning into their school. They are helping us as a district and staff to bring us up to speed quickly on what blended learning looks like, co-designing a school model alongside your team, and offering a software platform that brings it all together for teachers, students, and administrators. What does our design look like? Worked over the summer with Education Elements to create a design that is based on the IB Design Cycle and PDSA, so with this it should seamlessly work into each of our classrooms Goal for the first year: all ELA classrooms and 9th grade (Fall 13), 10th grade (Spring 14) Math introduced in 2014-2015 School wide by 2015-2016 Having PD Sessions throughout the year Tools will be given to you to be able to implement blended learning into your classrooms
