New teachers and evaluations New Teacher Induction processes are non-evaluative. They are for support only. New-to-the-profession teachers will be evaluated the same as all non-tenured certified teachers. All evaluations are based on the Kentucky Framework for Teaching

Teaching & Learning Conference Purpose: Three days of professional learning to build teacher capacity in the areas curriculum, instruction, and assessment Session Strands: ELA, Math, Special Education, MTSS, Preschool, Culturally Responsive Teaching and Learning, Literacy Symposium, Technology, Science, and More! Audience: PK-12 Classroom Teachers Attendance: 1,402 Attendees

Student Support Professionals Institute Purpose: Three days of professional learning to increase the capacity of our school-based student support professionals to ensure that they effectively, efficiently, & collaboratively meet the evolving needs of our students by using evidence-based, data-driven, and equitable practices Audience: District FRYSC Coordinators, Social Workers, Guidance Specialists, Counselors, School Psychologists, & Behavior Specialists Attendance: 170 FCPS Student Support Professionals (+ some FCPS administrators and special education teachers)
Primary Mathematics - Investigations3 Purpose: 3 days training through Pearson to introduce our teachers to the new mathematics curriculum Attendees received grade specific training to learn all aspects of the program. Teachers learned how Investigations meets all three of the District Priorities in Mathematics. Audience: Kindergarten - 2nd grade teachers, Special Education teachers, Intervention teachers, Administration & District Support Attendance: Over 450 Kindergarten - 2nd grade teachers and administrators
Intermediate Mathematics - Grades 3-5 Attendees received grade specific training to learn all aspects of the program and online platform. Teachers learned how enVision meets all three of the District Priorities in Mathematics. Audience: 3rd-5th grade teachers, Special Education, Intervention teachers, Administration & District Support Attendance: Over 450 3rd-5th grade teachers and administrators
Purpose: One day conference focusing on innovative instructional strategies that engage students to improve learning through the use of technology. Administrator Workshops 110 general sessions Audience: K-12 Teachers, Administrators and District Staff Attendance: 544 attendees
New Teacher Orientation Purpose: To provide professional learning for our new FCPS certified teachers about district resources, high-yield instructional strategies, research-based classroom management techniques and culturally responsive teaching and learning strategies. Audience: Newly Hired FCPS Certified Teachers Sessions included: Total Participation Techniques, School Safety and Security, ELA Wonders/Collections, Communicating with Families, Classroom Management, MTSS, and Culturally Responsive Teaching and Learning Attendance: 201 total (102 Elementary, 47 Middle, 52 High)

Substituting with FCPS - Applying Complete an application online at www.fcps.net . Click on Employment/HR then click on Job Vacancies. Click start an application for employment. Complete the application.
Substituting with FCPS – Background Checks Go to the Administrative Office of the Courts and order a background check. http://courts.ky.gov/aoc/criminalrecordreports/Pages/default.aspx If you order online, the cost is $27. If you go to Frankfort and pick it up, the cost is $25. Once you receive the background check, please email it to fcpsappcenter@fayette.kyschools.us After you send in your background check, you will receive an email that says your application is complete and to sign up to attend a substitute paperwork meeting. The meeting link will be a part of your application.
Substituting with FCPS – Required Documents Administrative Office of the Courts background check as noted above Note: this is not the same background check required for student teaching Driver’s license Social security card (original, signed) Official transcript showing at least 64 credit hours Physical form completed within the last 12 months (must be submitted on state required form – will get at paperwork meeting) Fingerprints and C.A.N. check must be less than 6 months old if paperwork is done outside of your student teaching semester
Substituting with FCPS– Pay Scale $20 additional per day for special education teacher and special education paraeducator positions. Certified Teacher pay begins when you bring your EPSB issued professional teaching certificate to the substitute office in the HR department
