PDFs used to be bullet-proof. That is no longer the case. Different PDFs exist …

Image PDFs These are literally a picture of a document and are exactly the same as you get from a photo-copier or a scanner with the ability to produce a PDF picture. They are NOT searchable NO Data is identifiable

Image PDFs Are viewable by ANYTHING From FormTrap are in the range 20-40 Kb per page Are the only PDF available from FormTrap Version 7 forms. Are optional via Email tab from FormTrap Version 8 forms.

V8 PDFs - Standard Searchable and data-carrying PDFs Do not include character glyphs (font outlines) In the range from 50-100Kb Are NOT read by Gmail (OK with Gmail’s Lumin or DocHub) And NOT read by iPhone, Android.

V8 PDFs using Options Searchable and data-carrying PDFs Option PDF Embed includes character glyphs (font outlines) Typical Size 2Mb (QDE Form) Are read by anything This is also known as PDF/A (Euro-standard)

V8 PDFs – Options plus Special Fonts Searchable and data-carrying PDFs Option PDF Embed will NOT include font glyphs, PROVIDED fonts used are Arial, Courier and Times Roman (plus bold, italic, bold-italic) Size 20-40Kb Are read by anything; ideal for low band-width and Cells
