Sysmac NC Controller Introducing the NJ5 PLC and NC integrated controller for complex and precision advanced manufacturing

Omron Sysmac NC on YouTube Sysmac NC  Advantages The Sysmac NC controller brings G Code programming to the IEC61131 Machine Controller. Reduce engineering hours with our Sysmac software that guides users to quickly set up, configure, simulate, and integrate a complete automation solution Reduced set up with intelligent tuning and kinematic coordinate axis groups using EtherCat 1S servos Complete solution – vision and measurement…. Engineer a high performance complete automation solutions with vision, motion, safety, IIoT, PackML, and Industry 4.0 capability Omron Sysmac NC on YouTube

Product Overview The Sysmac NC controller brings G Code programming to the IEC61131 Machine Controller. This gives the ability to utilize motion path creation from the CAD file to save programming time and ensure accuracy. Up to 8 – 4 axis coordinate systems Modify, test and save G Code right from the HMI 16 or 32 axes of Motion Built-in Ethernet/IP & EtherCAT network interfaces Eliminates communication time between controllers Configured, programmed, and commissioned using Sysmac Studio software

Sysmac NC Integration The NC controller brings more complex interpolation to machines without the need for a dedicated CNC controller. Conical, Helical and Spiral interpolation Advanced look ahead capability Tool Compensation Mechanical compensation Machine and work piece coordinate systems Configured, programmed, and commissioned using Sysmac Studio software

High-speed synchronization increases performance Programs for both PLC and NC are executed in the same task period, which enables processes to be synchronized with the cycle as you designed

High-speed synchronization reduces interlock time Interlock time between NC (processing) and PLC (other processes) will be reduced to 1/4* as compared to when separate controllers are used. Cycle time of a multi-purpose machine that generates many interlocks can be reduced.

Set up and configuration tools By providing easy to navigate graphical interfaces you can layout, configure and even test the design quickly Easy to navigate NC settings and configurations Graphical interface configuration Easy to understand interface for configuration

Benefits of the Sysmac NC Allows G Code to be run inside the NJ and IPC G Code is a proven technology Omron has combined G Code and IEC61131 Expands the capability of the Sysmac Platform G Code can be extracted from a CAD file This saves time and ensures accuracy The capability to run G Code gives customers Allow modification of motion at the machine G Code operation in any type of machine Other G Code controllers are dedicated CNC’s This expands the motion of the Sysmac Platform

Sysmac NC Interface Through the included software interface you can: NC Coordinates and feedback Machine control Sysmac NC Interface Through the included software interface you can: Monitor the coordinate system Modify, test and save G Code Test and Run the machine Control axis enable and homing Adjust federate and other settings Interface is customizable G Code editing, and saving Manual cycling of the G Code

Features & Benefits NJ5 NC controller in an NJ5 16 axis controller Up to 4 coordinate systems Built in SD card slot to store G Code programs Add an IPC to have NC Software to do edits Ethernet IP and EtherCAT ports

Features & Benefits IPC NC Controller in an Omron IPC 32 Axis controller Up to 8 coordinate systems Virtual SD to store G Code programs Run NC Software right on IPC Two Ethernet IP ports and 1 EtherCAT port

Develop your machine in one environment Sysmac Studio is a true Integrated Development Environment One software package to program everything on the machine Control G Code Motion HMI Safety Robots Temperature Control Servo Press Predictive Maintenance Vibration Suppression Tracing and simulation to provide feedback from machine development to maintenance.  Common tag database between HMI and controller.

1S Servo – Advanced EtherCAT drive EtherCAt 125 µs system cycle provides: Faster machine speed keeping same accuracy Accurate profile generation in the controller Advanced real-time scheduler manages motion, network, and the user application updates in a single cycle scan to ensure perfect synchronization The 23 bit high resolution encoder in combination with the improved loop control provides an accurate following profile Omron 1S Video on YouTube

1S Servo – Advanced EtherCAT drive Advanced auto tuning 23-bit resolution encoder Fast and secure screw-less push-in in all connectors Pluggable connectors for easy pre-wiring and system maintenance Direct wiring of I/O signals Embedded relay for direct motor brake control Improved loop control for overshoot and quick setting time Safety function built-in: Network Safe Torque Off: PLd (EN ISO 13849-1), SIL2 (IEC 61508) Hardwired Safe Torque Off: PLe (EN ISO 13849-1), SIL3 (IEC 61508) 230 VAC single-phase: 100 W to 1.5 kW 400 VAC three-phase: 600 W to 3 kW

Integrated robot and automation solutions provide savings and higher performance Omron’s integrated robot and automation capability lets you develop your complete solution in one software for robot, motion, safety, vision, HMI, IIoT, and Industry 4.0 programming

Bringing G Code flexibility to more than the traditional CNC’s We are bringing G Code Programming to new industries with the new NC controller This will allow more industries to take advantage of the time savings associated Dispensing (gaskets, glue, paint…) Milling (plastics, wood, ceramics…) Grinding (glass, metal, ceramics…) Textiles (sewing, winding, dying…)
