Presentation transcript:

Staying on track & Intra-session break Are you on track with your studies? Have you… ➢ submitted all assessments to date? ➢ attended most classes for each unit? ➢ considered your tutors’ feedback? ➢ reviewed lecture slides, notes, videos & handouts on vUWS? ➢ understood unit content? ➢ kept up with online presence (e.g. discussion boards)? ➢ identified units which you need additional help with, and sought authorised help? What if you are NOT on track with your studies? Planning for intra-session break: ➢ Pause and take rest ➢ Review your notes and vUWS material ➢ Catch up on any missed readings, videos, tutorial activities, online discussions ➢ Plan and prepare for upcoming assessments ➢ Arrange other areas of your life to reduce stress later in the semester ➢ Use this time to arrange consultations with support services, if needed ➢ Don’t wait – take action ASAP ➢ Check with your tutor to see if you can catch up with assessments and unit content ➢ Talk to a University counsellor and/or student welfare ➢ Make an informed decision regarding discontinuing after Census NEW PROGRESSION POLICY! From Sept 2018, you can withdraw from units up to 3 weeks after Census date without academic penalty. Last day – 21 Sept 2018 If you withdraw within this timeframe, you will still receive a financial penalty, but will not record a fail grade for the unit.
