Dr Augusto Machado referred about this group of EACCME he was charing EACCME PRESENTATION OF THE WORKING GROUP OF ACCREDITATION OF HEALTHCARE WORKERS Dr Augusto Machado referred about this group of EACCME he was charing The extension of ECMECs credits to health care professional figures who are not physician may, in the future, be problematic. President Siray argued that everyone has the right to be accredited and the problem might be solved with different type of credits.

Young Doctor’s Scholarship The Section is proposing a scholarship for young doctors specialized in Laboratory Medicine, to help them in the begining of their work; they will propose from next year to start to have a representative from young people in their meetings. The project is similar to the TAE group representative; no economical support however is given from our Section.

CESMA Meetings Elena Halves from Portugal reported about these meetings. There is a strong will to start exams as soon as possible though there are questions about the legal value of this exam.

MJC Infection Control From the Section there is a strong interest on this meeting which will be held in Rome next May in Spallanzani Hospital. Mathias Orth was delegated to attend the meeting.

Protection of Intellectual Property Dr Machado from Portugal paid for a copyright of his work 5 years ago He succeded in its intent.

Benchmarking programme From Dr Santiago (Spain) there is a strong will to motivate the appropriateness of the exams done by the Laboratory: they should be the best to be done, according to the suspected diagnosis.

Last issues Prof Maillet, UEMS treasurer, related about UEMS and its organization. The next Autumn meeting of the Section will be held in Brussels in November The Spring meeting 2019 will take place in Norway, in May, in Lillehammer.
