Development You will be expected to evaluate how film techniques present Romeo and Mercutio in Act 2, Scene 4 Watch the following beginning of the of Act 2, Scene 4 Notice how an atmosphere of life, excitement and fun is created through the use of film

Techniques Regarding the Opening of the Extract Mise en Scene bright colours (clothing), high lighting, public place, beach, windy, laughing, exhibitionism, smoking, smiling, merry go round, dancing (body language), slouching (relaxed), signs reflect narrative Editing quick, match cuts, montage editing Camera movement short shot duration, crash zooms (in and out), close ups, tracking within the party atmosphere Sound Sound bridge over shots, non-diegetic sounds/also atmospheric music has uplifting beat, slowly the diegetic sounds come into, giving the extract realism (laughing, car)
