Summary Winnipeg is a city with a longstanding history, dating back to Native American settlement Winnipeg has rich wildlife and natural features, such as Lake Winnipeg, the Red River and the Assiniboine River When Ben’s family settled there, Hawk’s Hill was still relatively a wilderness. This would make it dangerous for anyone out on their own.
