Proficient Readers: Create mental images during & after reading All five senses used as well as emotions; background information plays important role.

Proficient readers: Use detail within story to add depth to their understanding Engages reader and makes text more memorable

Proficient Readers: Use images to draw conclusions, create unique interpretations, recall significant details, & recall a text after it’s read. Personal experience will add to comprehension

Proficient Readers: Images revised as new information is added; new interpretations created

Proficient Readers Understand how images will increase their understanding of the text

Proficient Readers: Modify their images in response to images shared from other readers of the same text
