OSCEs Wide range conducted across the Faculty: Nursing (pre and post registration), Non-medical prescribing, Midwifery, Allied Health Varied marking and feedback sheets depending on student level, skills assessed, course requirements.

Foundation Studies Aseptic technique OSCE NMC ESC 25ii: Safely performs basic wound care using clean and aseptic techniques through simulation

Feedback sheet Piloted 2007-8 - summative since Sept 08 Criteria and format agreed with local Trusts Feedback sheet in 6 categories. Achieved Yes/No Assessor in role of mentor No time limitation Hand decontamination – no prompts allowed Limited prompts allowed for other aspects Immediate feedback- verbal & mark sheet
