El desayuno (breakfast)- Mexico Happens around 7-10 am Drink coffee Eat huevos rancheros (eggs, chili sauce, corn tortillas)

In Spain Meal times structure the day, with stores and businesses closing at lunch for people to take a break to be with family, and bar culture influences night life. Many people in Spain stay out later and longer than we typically do for dinner time in the US

Spanish eating customs Sobremesa- a term that literally means “over the table”. This phrase describes the custom of staying and talking long after the meal is over Siesta-The daily break around lunch time (2-4) where stores and businesses close and all people return home to eat with their families (and might even nap!) Coffee-is drunk with every meal, espresso is very popular
