Splashes Wear safety goggles Avoid sudden movements Avoid skin contact with corrosive chemicals Be aware of surroundings Keep equipment away from the edge of lab bench Keep test tubes in test tube rack Do not point test tube opening toward anyone.

Safety goggles Location in classroom Each lab bench has a labeled drawer containing 4 pairs of safety goggles

Safety Goggles Device Information: Goggles must be worn over your eyes during experiment set up, while performing the experiment, until the experiment is cleaned up.

Eyewash Station Location in the classroom In the back of the classroom next to the fire blanket

Eyewash Station Device Information: 1. Immediately flush eyes for at least 15 minutes. 2. Keep the eyes open and rotate the eyeballs in all directions to remove contamination from around the eyes. How to use an eyewash station

Broken glass Stand during experiments Keep equipment away from the edge of lab bench Avoid sudden movements Be aware of surroundings

Broken glass container Location of device in classroom: The broken glass bucket is underneath the large lab bench at the front of the classroom

Broken glass container Device information: Place any broken, chipped or cracked glassware in the bucket (NOT in the garbage) Any sharp materials should be disposed of in the bucket This prevents others from cuts and injury
