Keeping You Informed! We see your kids once a week, every week! We thought it would be nice to let you in on what your little scholars are learning during Special Area. Let us know what you think! There is a short survey at the end of this presentation.

What’s happening in the Library??? Kindergarten Kindergarten students are learning about the roles of an author and an illustrator, as well as identifying the parts of a book. 1st Grade 1st graders are working on retelling a fiction story and identifying non-fiction books. 2nd Grade 2nd graders are busy understanding the key details in a text, how to use a dictionary, and identifying fiction and non-fiction books.   3rd Grade 3rd graders are identifying the main idea and supporting details of a text, learning how to use a glossary, and summarizing a story they’ve read this year.  Library News What’s happening in the Library??? Important Date! October 16th is our Reading Fair! Projects are due by 8:00 AM.

What’s Happening in Music??? K – 2nd Grade Kindergarten will be learning about what pitches are. First and second grades will be learning about how to use their singing voice. 3rd Grade 3rd graders will be performing their music program “Journey Into Outer Space!” Come and enjoy our performance at 6:00 PM! Music Program Monday, October 22 3rd Graders in these classes will perform on Monday October 22nd. What’s Happening in Art??? During the month of October, the Kindergarten and 1st grade Art classes will learn about primary and secondary colors. 2nd grade Art classes have completed their 3-D sculptures of their favorite foods. The plates will be on display for National School Lunch Week! 3rd grade Art classes will create name aliens which will be displayed in the cafeteria during their music program. P.E. News What’s Happening in P.E.??? All students are learning about hand-eye coordination and tracking skills. Students will be able to perform the basics of juggling scarves, tossing and catching bean bags, and bouncing/tossing/catching tennis balls. P.E. News What’s Happening in P.E.???

What’s happening in the Computer Lab??? In the Computer Lab, we are working on our computer skills! The Kindergarten and 1st grade students are continuing their Math lessons on iReady. Second grade students are learning their way around the keyboard and will begin typing lessons soon! 3rd grade students well into their typing lessons on typing.com. Google Classroom is coming!!! They have an account already assigned by the district, so we plan to access those accounts and begin using them for their assignments in the Computer Lab and some 3rd grade classroom teachers!
