Why is Charles Dickens a Great Briton? He is one of Britain’s most famous novelists and wrote novels such as Oliver Twist and Great Expectations. As a child, Dickens was taken out of school and made to work in appalling conditions in a Victorian factory. Despite that, Dickens overcame these difficulties and fought hard to become a well known writer across the whole of Victorian Britain.
