The war came to Norway The 3rd April In the night 9th of April The Norwegian government asked Great Britain for help. The 3. of April German battleships traveled from Germany to Denmark and Norway. The attack on Norway was a surprise attack. They attacked several towns, all the coastal towns and the airports Fornebu and Sola attacked on the night from 8th to 9th of April. In the night 9th of April the government met to discuss the situation. But the Norwegian king and the government refused to surrender. But two months after the attack the Germans had conquered all of Norway. The Norwegian government asked Great Britain for help. And both Great Britain and France sent help to Norway, to withstand the Germans. The King of Norway and the government fled to London and kept on fighting form there. And the war kept on going in Norway until 1945.

The end of the war in Norway Norway got independent when Finland signed ceasefire with The Soviet Union in September 1944.   Unity government created Norway got independent when Finland signed ceasefire with The Soviet Union in September 1944. On 8th of May Germany capitulated and German forces was sent back to Germany. In August 1945, Norway with the exception of Finmark, was cleared of mines.   When the king came back from London, was a unity government created, and a political party in Norway called “Arbeiderpartiet” got absolute majority and formed the government, they were political conditions again normal.
