Cross Country Dates to Remember No experience is necessary. The team welcomes runners of all abilities. We will train any interested athlete into a competitive runner. Please contact David Yin with any questions about the team. June and July Summer Training (voluntary): When: Starting June 14th, Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00AM to 9:00AM Where: Zilker Volleyball Courts, Lou Neff Road Workouts: The summer runs will develop every runner's aerobic capacity and stamina. August Summer Training (mandatory): When: Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 9:00AM Workouts: The team will continue to build stamina as well as begin to introduce a little speed work. In Season: When: Monday through Friday, 6:30AM to 7:45AM Where: Austin High Track Students can use the locker rooms after practice to shower and prepare for school. Some students to get ready for school. Varsity Record 29-8 Fr: 2nd in District Summer: 6th-9th Grade Basketball Camp... June 25-28 1pm-4pm. Signup by emailing- brad.ingram@austinisd.org Please make sure you are signed up for basketball class prior to the school year starting. Have your parents call the counselor’s office if you notice you don’t have basketball 2 times on your schedule. If you want to play you must be in the class. If you play volleyball you will sign up for volleyball in fall and basketball in spring. Basketball Season Starts Oct. 17 (if you play vball, it will start once vball is over) ENDS Feb 5, plus playoffs District Starts November 20 vs. Lehman Freshmen have 1 tournament Nov. 16 & 18 We practice and have district games over Winter Break (Dec. 28-Jan 5) so everyone is expected to be there. All incoming freshmen need to have their 2018-19 physical on file with the AHS trainers before the start of school. Swimming Dates to Remember · Swim Tryouts for next year's team are this month! Tuesday, May 24th at the Texas School for the Deaf from 5:30 to 7:00 pm · First official day of practice is the Tuesday after Labor Day, Sept. 6th · Season runs from September to early February · Roughly half the meets are on a Friday and half on a Saturday (about 8 meets total for the season) during the day (so students will miss school for the Friday meets) · Need to get into 1st period swim class to be on the team · Please email Coach Calver with questions: drew.calver@austinisd.org
