2019 Year 6 Residential Visit Parent Briefing

Why? builds self-confidence, develops social skills and team building. children and young people themselves often talk fondly of their experiences during residential trips and often describe their experiences as formative in developing their personal skills

When, where and who Monday 20th May 2019 – Wednesday 22nd May 2019 2017 Grosvenor Hall, Ashford, Kent 35 places reserved, allocated on a “first come, first served” basis Ark Dickens Primary staff ratio of 1:10 plus (at least) one “spare”

Cost £160 Inclusive of coach travel, accommodation, food, activities £40 (non-refundable) deposit £30 payments by 25th January 2019 £30 by 15th February 2019 £30 by 22nd March 2019 £30 by 26th April 2019 Can be paid weekly

Grosvenor Hall Facilities Outdoor: Extensive ropes park with a multitude of apparatus including a triple zipwire, 3G swing and double fan descender  Indoor: Indoor swimming pool complex for all weather activities and sports, plus a Blu-ray cinema and an impressive 25,000 square foot sports hall Watersports: activities now include raft building and canoeing.

Accommodation Standard dormitory style accommodation. Rooms range from twins to 8 bed dormitories, with gender-separated bathroom and shower facilities. All staff adjacent to children Sheets, duvets and pillows are provided for all guests

Sample Itinerary 7.00 Wake up / get dressed / breakfast 9:30 Lights out! All activities led by qualified Kingswood staff, with Ark Dickens staff in attendance
