ACEweb Student Online Reporting Module STORM

What does it do? Initial release: Students will be able to download and print a PDF certificate of their registration transcript, or Certificates, directly from ACEweb

Student’s view Logged on students will first access their history page, located on their “My Account” page:

Student’s view From the history page, students will see buttons for “My Certificates” and “My Transcript”, if enabled

Student’s view Clicking My Certificates brings up a list of the courses that have been enabled for certificate download

Student’s view Once they choose and click “Get My Certificate”, the Certificate PDF will open in a new window Adobe Acrobat Reader or equivalent program is required to view or print the PDF.

Student’s view Clicking My Transcript will go directly to the students transcript report

AW Options and Configuration In order for the certificate and transcript buttons to appear on the students history page, you must have a value listed in the following aceweb.ini settings: ReportTranscript ReportCertificate You can only specify the names of “additional” reports from those report areas.

AW Options and Configuration A preset default transcript and certificate report will be included in the download for you to import into Student Manager. These additional reports will be named: “Default Transcript” and “Default Certificate” See the installation document for detailed instructions on importing these reports

SM Options and Configuration The “Web Certificate” field (Cowebcert) allows you to specify a different certificate report that will override the default that is set in the aceweb.ini This can be set for each course independently, and pulls from your additional reports in the certificates reporting area Course screen (ACEweb Info tab)

SM Options and Configuration The “Show on Web Transcript” field (Cowebtran) determines if registrations in this course will show on a students online transcript report This is useful to prevent course types like donations, or memberships from being included Course screen (ACEweb Info tab)

SM Options and Configuration For the “Get Web Certificate” field (rgwebcert) a non-zero value here determines whether the student can generate a certificate for this registration on ACEweb If set to “2” then the current date will be stamped into the “Cert Date” field (rgptcert) when the student downloads their certificate online Registration screen

Customizing your reports While ACEweb uses the certificate and transcript reports that are created in Student Manager, it does not have its full functionality (some Student Manager functions may NOT work from ACEweb!) Any images that you want to display on the reports should be stored within the Student Manager folder (preferably in a sub folder called images)

Customizing your reports You can change the header of your transcript report in two ways: Modify the report and hard code the text directly onto the report Add and/or edit the WWWEB Student Manager staff account’s preferences, and set the “org defaults” to the values you want displayed

Choosing who gets a certificate A quick way to select which students get to print a certificate is with a “SWAPVAL” function on a course certificate quick report. This will allow you access to the “All/Date/Select” option to select or unselect students

Choosing who gets a certificate The SWAPVAL function should be placed on a new certificate report (NOT the ones you use for printing or for online!) We recommend you name this report something like “Enable Online Certificate” etc. Once you select or unselect the students, and close out of the report preview (no need to print this!) the SWAPVAL function will do its work Which will change the value of the rgwebcert field to “1”, which enables the students you chose to print their certificates online

Further Customizations STORM (valued at $1,200) is offered to current ACEweb users for FREE and includes a default certificate and a default transcript report. You may customize other web reports yourself, or ACEware can develop custom online certificates or transcripts for you (customized report fees will apply). End of year funds?
