Coverage All Academic and General staff It does not apply to TAFE Teachers or staff who remain on an AWA 11/01/2019

Represents 10.9% compounded in 16 month period Salary Increases 1.5% from date of signing 3% from 4 January 2009 2% from 5 July 2009 4% from 3 January 2010 Represents 10.9% compounded in 16 month period Existing 23% loading moves to 25% for all casual staff 11/01/2019

Superannuation Maintenance of existing conditions except TAFE General Staff will now have opportunity to move to UniSuper Same option applies to State “New Scheme” Eligibility to move into full UniSuper with 17% employer contributions requires a continuing contract or fixed-term appointment of 10 months or more 11/01/2019

Many terms and conditions of existing UCA have been rolled over into new UCA but a number of new clauses or amended clauses have been added 11/01/2019

Modes of Employment Some restrictions on fixed-term employment Severance pay for some fixed-term staff 4 full time Level A 2 year fixed-term academic positions to be made available for UB academic sessional staff – EARLY CAREER DEVELOPMENT FELLOWSHIPS Casual academic staff to be provided with library card, email account and UB network and intranet access for a period of up to 3 months after the casual contract ceases New casual academic staff to be paid up to 5 hours for induction and/or policy familiarisation 11/01/2019

Indigenous Employment and Reconciliation A target of 7 identified Indigenous employees by end of 2009 Implementation of Reconciliation Action Plan 5 paid days for ceremonial leave plus a further 10 unpaid days leave in any 12 month period 11/01/2019

Workplace Flexibility Clause (Cl 30) UB and employee may agree to vary the application of certain terms and conditions Any agreement, on balance, must not result in a reduction in the overall terms and conditions of employment of the individual employee 11/01/2019

Linked Classifications (Broadbanding) Greater opportunity to have a linked classification HEW 2-3, HEW 3-4, HEW 4-5, HEW 5-6, HEW 6-7, some IT HEW 7 positions Operates from January 2009 Specific criteria for advancement 11/01/2019

Long Service Leave Staff (with less than full time service) can elect to take LSL payment at 100% If staff member leaves after 7 years service then entitlement to pro-rata LSL (7 years = 9.1 weeks payment) LSL for casuals after 10 years continuous service provided normally not more than 3 month break between appointments (only two thirds of employment with University completed before 1 Janaury 2006 counts as continuous service) 11/01/2019
