What’s happening in November? College Prep Wednesday November 8, 2017

Important dates to remember November 10 - Veterans Day - No school November 22 - 24 - Thanksgiving Recess - No school

Let’s learn about these holidays What is Veterans Day? It is an official U.S. holiday observed every year on November 11. The day is to honor people who served in the United States Armed Forces (U.S. military). Anyone who serves in the military is called a veteran once their service is over. We celebrate on November 11th in remembrance of the end of WWI, which ended on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918.

Why is it important to honor veterans? Have a class discussion for a few minutes and come up with ideas on why we should honor our veterans. Create a list of your top reasons why honoring our veterans is so important.

Veterans Day vs. Memorial Day Veterans Day often gets confused with Memorial Day. We celebrate Memorial Day in May to honor members of the military who died during their service, and we celebrate Veterans Day to honor all members of the military who served.

Have a great Veterans Day holiday!! Remember… If you know a veteran or see one, thank them for their service!

Wall of Warriors Please feel free to stop by and add any of your family's name to our Warrior’s Wall. Anyone in your family that has or is still serving in the military please feel free to add there name. The memorial is across from Mrs. Esquivel’s room.

Happy Thanksgiving

Things To Be Thankful For.

What Are You Thankful For? Take out a sheet of paper and write down 5 things you are thankful for. Try to really think of things that are important in your life. Keep this paper and pick out your favorite and next Wednesday the 15th you can add it to our Tree of Gratitude. During lunch time next Wednesday ASB will host an activity in which you can fill out your leaf and claim your Spartan Pride Ticket for your participation.
