X-ray Emission Process (Non-resonant) 2 p Valence Band Remove electrons from 1s core level (continuum) Hole is filled by electrons from the 2p band, emitting a photon Energy of the emitted photon equals the energy difference between 1s and 2p bands 1 s Core Level
