KEY CONCEPTS xenophobia= the fear of the presence of foreigners; this concept completes that of nationalism. The idea of nationalists is that immigrants do not belong in a nation-state which is intended for another ethnic group; immigration is seen by these people as something that could alter the national population and the national identity, as something that destroys their country.
