Robots What does the word “Robot” mean, and where did it come from? - It originated from the Czech word “Robota” meaning forced labor. What are the types of robots? - Cartesian, Scara, Cylindrical, Delta, Polar and Vertically Articulated. What are the laws of robotics and where did this originate from? - The three rules of robotics were set by Isaac Asimov, they are the following: 1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. 2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law. 3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Laws. Proxima B How far is Proxima B to Earth? - 4.24 light years. What is the surface like on Proxima B? - The surface of Proxima B is very rocky and it has got a lot of deep hills which are covered in fog. What is the atmosphere like on Proxima B? - Because the planet Proxima B doesn’t rotate, the Planet isn’t like earth. One side is always towards the sun which results in it being too hot, making the water turn to steam. The opposite side is facing away from the sun, which results in the waters freezing. Around the middle of the planet there is a balanced temperature which means they’ve got water. But because Proxima B does not have a stable atmosphere, it is exposed to UV radiation making it hard for people to live there. Is Proxima B the right choice? - Unfortunately because of the exposure to UV radiation and unstable atmosphere, it is not sustainable enough for people to survive.

Why is our atmosphere so important? - Our atmosphere is important because it blocks some of the sun’s dangerous rays from reaching earth, and it makes earth a comfortable temperature by trapping heat, it’s got oxygen which is essential for life.
