Kill-Joys Acts 15

Background: the Joy of Freedom! Nearly the whole city assembled to hear the word of the Lord. But when the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy and began contradicting the things spoken by Paul… Acts 13:44-45 “The Lord has commanded us, 'I HAVE PLACED YOU AS A LIGHT FOR THE GENTILES, THAT YOU MAY BRING SALVATION TO THE END OF THE EARTH.'" When the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord… Acts 13:47-48 And the disciples were continually filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit. Acts 13:52 “Whole city” = BEAUTIFUL Movement “Jealousy” = ENEMIES of God’s Freedom ** “Salvation” = REJOICING! **“Filled..Joy” = **GOSP: ~B Scared of HS “Gospel”

“Peace Wars” Jews came from Antioch and Iconium, and having won over the crowds, they stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, supposing him to be dead. But while the disciples stood around him, he got up and entered the city… Acts 14:19-20 Acts 14:20-22 The next day he went away with Barnabas to Derbe. After they had preached the gospel to that city and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra and to Iconium and to Antioch, strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying, "Through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God." “Entered..city” = TERRIFYING!
