The Goal: Materials: Minion Coaster Lab The goal is to display your understanding of how scientific inquiry shows the evidence of the interaction of independent and dependent variables to solve problems. - 12 feet of “track” - a minion passenger - masking tape - cardstock - popsicle sticks

Role: Your role is a roller coaster designer for a new amusement park. Audience -Your audience is the American Coaster Minion Enthusiasts. Situation – You have been challenged to create a new and exciting roller coaster that excites the minions but is also safe. Product – Functioning Roller Coaster with accompanying Lab report following the scientific method taught in class. Standards for Success- *Your roller coaster must meet the minimum requirement of scoring 10 points. *Minions reach end of coaster safely

Scoring: Overall drop of 2 feet = 1 point 1 pt. 2 pts. 2 Feet 4 Feet

Scoring: 2 pts. 1 pt. 12 inches 6 inches Hill or Rise of 6 inches = 1 point 2 pts. 1 pt. 12 inches 6 inches

(we’re now looking down from above) Scoring: Turn of 45° or more = 1 point 1 pt. (we’re now looking down from above) 45°

Scoring: Turn of 45° or more = 1 point Still just 1 point . . .
