Journal Briefly compare Contagion Theory, Emergent Norm Theory, and Convergence Theory as explanations of crowd behavior. Provide a real-life example for each to help illustrate your explanations.

View the TED Talk with Jon Ronson on internet shaming and the power of Twitter in group action. Locate and investigate another real-life example of internet shaming, preferably involving Twitter as a medium of communication. For the incident you chose, read three different articles/reports on the incident. Spend 5-8 minutes reviewing Twitter threads relating to the incident. Then: Provide the links to the three articles. Explain the initial “offense”. Describe the catalyst for the Twitter action. (i.e. was it shared by someone powerful? Did it “hit the news”?) Provide a brief timeline of the incident. (Fast burn? Slow burn?) Explain the fall-out from the incident? What was the impact on originator of the Tweet ? Provide a one paragraph analysis of online twitter shaming using Contagion Theory, Emergent Norm Theory, or Convergence Theory.
