Reading~ How Animals Communicate (Focus Skill: Main Idea & Details) Read Aloud: How to Make an Apple Pie & See the World Language~ Nouns (Proper/Common) Writing~ Response to Literature Math~ Base Tens; 10 More/Less & 1 More/Less; Counting to 120 Social Studies~ Geography (Landforms & Oceans) Word Study Words Students will be tested on Friday and will have to write each word correctly. These are some examples of word patterns that will be used. The words on this list will not necessarily be the ones tested, but they will follow this spelling pattern. WEEK 7 & 8 ~ short /o/ words (word families –ock, -op, -ot, og, -ob). sock tock rock dock dog jog hot stop crop flop pop top clock cog cot cob bob bop cop mop *Visit www.starfall.com for more phonics practice! Sight Words Students will be tested on Friday. Students will have to say each word instantly, without sounding them out. They will not have to write them 1. much 2. where 3. help 4. through 5. before 6. line 7. right 8. mean 9. old 10. any Homework Daily: Read, or have someone read to you for 10 – 15 minutes. Monday: Math Sheet and Word Work sheet Tuesday: Math Sheet and Word Work sheet. Wednesday: Family Night (No Homework) Thursday: Math Sheet and Study Word Work list & sight words for test tomorrow. Dollar for a Cure For the month of September, every Friday will be a “dress down” day for a $1 donation. All proceeds will go to the CURE foundation. Ice Cream on Tuesday $1.00 Please send money only on Tuesdays & put it in the laminated envelope in the homework folder. If you would like to join your child for lunch, please call the office or write me a note by 8:00 a.m. Picture Day Thursday, Sept. 27th will be Fall pictures. This will be the picture that will be in the MES yearbook. This will be a non-uniform day. You may also sign up online at www.myschoolbucks.com to pay for your child’s school meals. Please send all notes, signed forms, etc. in this notebook. We do not check book bags for notes or money.
